Privacy notice

This is a convenience translation. The German version at /datenschutz is the legally binding one; where the two differ, the German text applies.

1. Controller

The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR; Datenschutz-Grundverordnung, DSGVO) is:

Patric Zeller
Eckstr. 17a
67681 Sembach
Deutschland

E-mail: info@patric-zeller.de

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the statutory requirements for such an appointment are not met.

2. Principles

This website processes personal data only to the extent necessary to provide the site and to carry out cookieless audience measurement. No cookies are set for analytics or advertising purposes, no information is stored on or read from your device, no personal usage profiles are created, and no cross-site tracking takes place. Consent is therefore not required. Details of the audience measurement are set out in section 6.

3. Accessing the website and server logs

When you access this website, your browser transmits technically necessary data, which the hosting provider stores in server log files. This concerns in particular:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • page or file accessed
  • amount of data transferred and status message on the success of the retrieval
  • browser type, browser version and operating system
  • where applicable, the page visited previously

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free operation and in the security of the website. These data are not merged with other data sources. The log data are deleted by the hosting provider automatically and on an ongoing basis; I do not store them beyond that.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The provider processes the log data referred to above on my behalf. A contract on processing on behalf of the controller (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with the provider.

Data may also be processed in the United States of America. The transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR) adopted by the European Commission, which form part of the contract on processing on behalf of the controller with the provider.

5. Fonts

The fonts used are self-hosted and delivered exclusively from the site's own server. No connection to third-party servers is established when the page loads; in particular, no fonts are loaded from external providers and no IP address is transmitted to third parties.

6. Audience measurement

On the home page and the associated subpages of this domain, Vercel Web Analytics provided by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, is used to record how often which pages are accessed.

The method works without cookies and without a persistent identifier. No information is stored on or read from your device; the conditions of Section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, TDDDG) are therefore not met. To tell page views apart, a distinguishing value is derived from technical characteristics of the request — including the IP address; this value changes each working day and cannot be traced back to you. The IP address itself is not stored. Recognising you beyond a single day or across other websites is thus ruled out.

The data collected are the page accessed, the page visited previously, details of the browser, operating system and device type, and the country of origin. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in being able to understand, in aggregated form, how my own site is used and to align its content accordingly. The processing is carried out on my behalf on the basis of the contract referred to in section 4, including the basis for the transfer to the United States described there.

On the /MBRC page, audience measurement is not used. No analytics script is loaded there; only the server logs described in section 3 are generated.

You may object to the processing under Art. 21 GDPR. An informal message to the e-mail address given above is sufficient.

7. Contacting me by e-mail

If you contact me by e-mail, the details you provide are stored for the purpose of handling your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and, for enquiries relating to a contract or its initiation, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data are deleted once the reason for storing them no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way.

This website does not contain a contact form.

8. External links

This website links to external services, including a source code repository and applications at their own addresses. When you click such a link, the data protection provisions of the respective provider apply. I have no influence over their data processing. No third-party content that would establish a connection merely by accessing this page is loaded automatically — neither maps nor videos, advertising material or third-party fonts. The exception is the audience measurement described in section 6, which is delivered via the site's own domain.

9. Report form at /MBRC

On the /MBRC page, a form is available with which a report record can be generated. The entries are processed exclusively in the user's browser and written to a file that is downloaded locally. The entries are not transmitted to me or to third parties, no entries are stored and no server request is triggered.

10. Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the following rights:

  • access to the data processed concerning you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

To exercise these rights, an informal message to the e-mail address given above is sufficient.

11. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz), Hintere Bleiche 34, 55116 Mainz.
